The development will consist of:The refurbishment and reconfiguring of the existing facility, which contains 24 bedrooms, to create 6 additional bedrooms within the existing ground floor accommodation while a smaller single storey extension to the southern facade will provide 4 more bedrooms; the demolition of part of the facility to permit the construction of a L shaped two storey extension to the west and north, which will contain 49 new resident bedrooms. The proposed refurbished and extended facility, when completed, will contain a total of 83 resident bedrooms. The proposed refurbished and extended facility, when completed, will contain a total of 83 resident bedrooms. The existing building and new two storey extension will create a landscaped courtyard for residents. The existing building has a floor area of 1633.15 sq.m and the extension will add 2522.95 sq.m. to bring the total floor area of the completed development to 3536.09sq.m. The overall accommodation will include day rooms, dining areas, physiotherapy and nursing facilities as well as individual bedrooms. The existing access to Cedar House Nursing Home from Mount Anville Park will remain. The proposal also includes the provision of 23 parking spaces compared to 25 existing car parking spaces. 14 staff and visitor cycle parking spaces will be provided, a fire tender turning circle will be created and permission is sought for all associated site development works, landscaping, boundary treatments and other servicing works.
